Yes, that's right. Day after tomorrow is Halloween, but it's also my release date.
The Wailing will be out via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords. I'm so not flipping out. (Except that I totally am.)
With Nazi bombs falling from the sky and fires consuming London, reluctant immortal Daniel Leland finds himself in an uncomfortable position. As a halfhearted employee of the British government, blackmailed into submission, he is forced to use his peculiar talent for murder in the service of the Crown. But as the assignments become impossibly challenging, the limits of that talent are tested. The Luftwaffe is not the most explosive thing to menace Great Britain, and even dead things can die again. There is more at stake than the questionable life of a lone agent, more at stake than Daniel Leland would care to admit.

of the subgalleries) and create a derivative work. This can be an illustration, a character sketch, a poem, a short fiction, or whatever else you want to create. (Lol, cosplay?)
This requires no extensive familiarity with the characters or scenarios. As long as I can see a clear connection, it's valid.
Submit your entry as a deviation with a link to
this journal included in the artists' comments and send me a note with the link to your deviation.
To summarise: Yes, this is a draw-my-characters contest. Only without the "draw" stipulation. Or honestly, even the "my characters" stipulation. I'd love to see someone else's OC reacting to one of mine.

15 December 2012. Any submission received after midnight, EST, will be featured in my journal but will not be eligible to win.
First Place receives a

autographed print copy of The Wailing. (Disclaimer: while I will ship overseas, you have to live somewhere that can receive post from the United States.)
Second Place receives
one-month DA Premium Membership and an individual feature in my journal.
