Greetings all!

Almost all of us on deviantART want to know how we are doing. We also know that to get any element of an answer, we have to put a lot of work in ourselves. It all sounds very exhausting, doesn't it?
We would like to openly discuss solutions the community can enact from within. This isn't just "what can the CVs do", but what can YOU do too. We don't want to waste good effort on the wrong things and moreso, we want to try to encourage more of you to get involved as individuals.

Literary Compass - Vol. 9Welcome
If one is looking for Literature, you don't need to go far on deviantART. There is a large community of writers and a plethora of work to peruse. Featuring genres such as fantasy, mystery, horror, and romance, one would be hard-pressed to find an area not covered. However, due to the nature of the site, shorter works tend to get more focus. It's easier to quickly read a poem or a short story, and thus many of the feature articles on dA showcase those works. However, there are many novelists and serial writers among the mix, oftentimes fighting an uphill battle to have their works seen and appreciated.
With that in mind, I have started an article to spotlight some of those artists and their literary-worlds. The works covered in this feature will exclusively be long-form fiction such as novels, trilogies, etc., or fiction serials.

League of Lit Groups: Vol. 5This article will be posted once a month and will revisit one past group spotlight from Love dA Lit and one literature group who is in need of admins to help with their various group activities.
Since I am bad at planning and replying, I will be changing how I present the groups who are looking for administrators. Unless I get a request to specifically promote a group's call for staff I will just use one of the newest ones from Love da Lit at the time of posting.

This is an auto-bio of how I became a mermaid and turned it into a job and how someone else can too!

New Survey Process

Hellllllloooooooo everyone! It's been like forever since we chatted last. Aside for being angry at us for slacking the last couple months, how are you all? Your pairings still holding up? Are you still waiting for a pairing? Do you need a new partner? Are you ready to assassinate the staff because we're so behind?
Don't answer that last one.

We're WAY behind with getting pairings done, and it's because we're all running busy schedules. So after a little pow-wow, we've come up with a new and improved way of getting your surveys into us. We'll no longer be manually entering each survey into our database (which is VERY time consuming, by the way). Instead, we're going to direct potential beta readers and writers to an outside survey (hosted through GoogleDocs, so it's completely safe and virus free, we promise! Autism's FriendIn Boston Massachusetts, an orphanage held many of the children who lost their parents when they were very young. On specific child who lived there was very different than the others. She had Apsergers, a specific type of Autism, and the people who took care of her didn't know much about her condition. They always thought she was stubborn and aggressive, but her disorder was just making her stressed out. She would have many stims that made her look like she had spasms, but were expected with her disorder. She would always cry outside by a tree with her stuffed owl she would never get rid of. Her condition made her obsessed with owls, and the people thought she was sick and planned to send her to an institution if she didn't 'improve'. One cloudy, brisk day, she sat by the tree and clutched her owl.
'I wish I had a friend who likes owls and understands me…' she thought.

Kenapa

My mermaid book is published

I published a book

Taking Down My StoriesI knew it was coming and I put if off as long as I could.
But someone is picking at my stories and having random chapters taken down by DA and I won't have them pecked to death.
This is the second chapter in two weeks. I don't know who is doing this since I have warnings and they are still reading the story, and then reporting the chapters.
But fine. I get the hint. I'm packing them up.
So I'm taking down 'Together' after a newly found reader is done. Actually, I'm taking down up to where she has read, and stay a step or two behind her.
Next is 'Daddy's Acceptance'. 'The Gift' and 'Snow Days' is staying up because they are 'clean'.
"My Home" is coming down, but I think I'll leave "Love's Love" up.
The poems stay. As shotty as I think they are, once in a while, someone finds them and think they are good.
Out of my one shot stories, "Late Lunch", "Happy Ever After" and "Walking Home" is coming down. Oh, and "Hello". The other two OC stories are safe. Nope. "Happy Ever After" is staying.

The Wailing: A Book of Lost Knowledge is available from Amazon and Smashwords!
We're having a bit of technical difficulty over at Barnes & Noble, but it'll be showing up there, soon. It should be out in print within a couple of days.

With Nazi bombs falling from the sky and fires consuming London, reluctant immortal Daniel Leland finds himself in an uncomfortable position. As a halfhearted employee of the British government, blackmailed into submission, he is forced to use his peculiar talent for murder in the service of the Crown. But as the assignments become impossibly challenging, the limits of that talent are tested. The Luftwaffe is not the most explosive thing to menace Great Britain, and even dead things can die again. There is more at stake than the questionable life of a lone agent, more at stake than Daniel Leland would care to admit.
